Shinerama is Canada’s largest post-secondary fundraiser that supports Cystic Fibrosis Canada. The UofM campaign is housed by the Commerce Students’ Association (CSA) of the Asper School of Business. Shinerama hosts various events from May to September focused on raising both money and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting both Canadian children and adults and is a disease for which there is no cure.

General Coordinator
Available Positions: 1
The General Coordinator will be responsible for recording meeting minutes, in addition to assisting the Shinerama Co-Chairs and committee members with various tasks. The General Coordinator will also be responsible for organizing and monitoring the textbook sale in September, alongside the Events Coordinators. They will also assist in booking spaces for meeting rooms and events. The General Coordinator will work with the rest of the committee by helping out with various jobs and ensuring all tasks are completed.

Event Coordinators

The Events Coordinator role is crucial to the Shinerama campaign, providing individuals with the opportunity to learn about the various facets of event planning and hone their event planning skills. They will plan all Shinerama events and will ensure that events run smoothly. The Events Coordinators will work closely with the Volunteer Coordinators to ensure that volunteers have all necessary information for events.

Director of Corporate Relations

The Director of Corporate Relations is an exciting role that provides individuals with the opportunity to work with businesses to secure in-kind and monetary donations for the Shinerama charity campaign. The main responsibility of the role will be to plan and execute Shinerama Prize Basket Giveaway using acquired donations, amongst other duties. The Directors of Corporate Relations will also assist the rest of the committee in promoting all Shinerama events and securing partnerships where needed.

Director of Public Relations

The Director of Public Relations is an exciting role that focuses on acquiring media coverage (radio, television, newspapers) throughout the Shinerama campaign, from the beginning of May to mid-fall. The Director of Public Relations main responsibility is to raise awareness for the Shinerama campaign and Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

Director of Marketing
Available Positions: 2
The Director of Marketing is responsible for all Shinerama marketing,
including the monitoring and updating of all Shinerama social media pages (Instagram, Facebook, etc.). This also includes ensuring students know about all Shinerama events and volunteer opportunities. The Directors of Marketing are also responsible for updating the campaign website when need be. Graphic design experience is not a requirement, but is considered an asset.

Volunteer Coordinator

The Volunteer Coordinators play a vital role in the Shinerama campaign, focusing on spreading the word about Shinerama volunteering opportunities, managing and communicating with volunteers, and assisting on the day of events. They will recruit, manage, motivate, and engage volunteers and will act as the main point of contact for all Shinerama volunteers. The Volunteer
Coordinators will also be responsible for any necessary volunteer training.
